Follow-up to February 4th Letter to TIAA-CREF

Executive Vice Presidents Bertram Scott, Scott Evans, and George
Madison

TIAA-CREF

Dear Mr. Scott, Mr. Evans, and Mr. Madison:

We write to you, at this time to say that we have not yet received
a written response to the letter we presented in February. In a
statement we published worldwide, we asked TIAA-CREF to follow its governance guidelines and act ethically by not financing companies incurring in immoral or illegal behavior. This would have the fund be supportive of the protection of human rights, the defense of the environment and the promotion of social responsibility.

We cordially invite you to answer the letter, assuring you that
we will publicly commend you on a positive response in case you have
taken actions to address the very important issues our coalition raises.
Clearly, in lieu of a response, we must determine what course we must
take to promote our interests with TIAA-CREF. We look forward to hearing
from you soon on this matter.

Beyond our concern with the financing of several particular
companies, we as a coalition have just voted to support the renewed campaign of one of our members, Social Choice for Social Change. We will
actively support that effort with our resources.

We take this opportunity to send greetings.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Ballinger, for The Make TIAA-CREF Ethical coalition
